As a channel op, is there a way of assigning a unique identifyer, eg password or email address, to each user so that only users with the identifyer that matches one in my list can access the channel?

since anything is possible...

the users who wants to join the channel, considering the channel is invite only, would ctcp you,who when opped,on recieving the right ctcp will invite that person into the channel and the person can have /ajinvite on so he can join when recieving any invitation

all this happens as a result of one ctcp request from the user who wants to join your channel
and that can be added to the users on connect perform functions

it shouldnt be difficult,i am sure it will work
read ctcp help and Access levels help section
