Forums Connection Issues cannot get past 'Found Your Host Name'

hey-

when i try to connect to an EFNET server it will get to the FOUND YOUR HOST NAME line but then it will just sit forever without fully connecting me to the server.

any ideas on what my problem is? i am connecting through a university system so maybe thats the problem?

It's quite possible that a firewall is causing the problem, particularly given your location. I suggest you first talk to the network administrator or whoever deals with the Universitiy's Internet/Computers, and ask them if it would be possible to connect. They may have specifically blocked IRC for security reasons.
