I am using mirc 6.16 running windows XP with the fire wall turned off.

The problem I am having is I cant DCC send or chat. However I can receive files with no problem. I am able to DCC chat one time when I first setup Mirc but that is all...after that it times out and won't work again.

I have checked and checked again everything is set right in the DCC options. I even tried a different version 6.03 and it still does the same thing.

Please help

For you info I read this before I even posted this message. I have went through all the steps and it isn't working. The one thing that has changed I can send a file now. But still can't DCC chat with anyone.

Well if NONE of the options in that thread helped i couldnt tell you what the problem might be.
I have been helping a guy on the network i go to with a similar issue and neither of us can figure out what is wrong. Nothing on his machine is any different than it was before the problem started, no new isp, router, nic, os..... nothing.
I'll keep looking back to see what you get out of this, maybe its a bug (doubtful) or malicious code.

Some cheap-ass ISPs don't always give their clients a public IP address, either because the ISP has ran out of public IP addresses or because they don't want to pay to register more of them. This is _way_ more common with cable ISPs in Latin America. So even if you don't have a router, you might not have a public IP address.
