i need help catching keyboard events (button presses and the like) in DIALOGS. I want to be able to scroll thru data using arrow keys, and perhaps bind aliases to Fkeys that can be used in the dialog.

thanx in adv smirk

I never thought it was possible to catch when a key is pressed in dialogs, though it probably can be done with a DLL. I'm looking through the MDX help file, but nothing is showing.

uhm, aliasing /f? keys only seems to work when mIRC is the active window. i was thinkin bout mdx too, on how u can embed @win's into dialogs, but i dont quite get the hang of it. i even managed to crash my mIRC a few times attempting it LOL grin

Why don't you just use @Windows? Wouldn't that be easier?

sorry, but i already have this particular dialog all soupd-up with mdx and all, and am not planning to trade my blood and sweat (but mostly my sweat ) for a @win (dont wanna hafta learn xgui). i just thought it'd be very useful (for everyone) to be able use the keybrd stuff. i feel that putting so many buttons and using alt+? to trigger them makes my dialog too cluttered crazy
