Forums mIRC Help Please Help!

Hello!

I'm having a problem with IRC and I'm hoping you can offer some insight.

I download mIRC and with that software I was able to access IRC chatrooms using undernet servers. A few days ago, however, I returned to college and since then have not been able to connect with any mIRC servers. A friend told me that IRC may be blocked by the college, and suggested I attempt to use a web based client. I managed to find one that worked, but it didn't allow me to use any undernet servers, and unfortunately the rooms on undernet.org won't connect for me either.

Is there anything I can do to get around this problem? I got into the habit of using mIRC pretty heavily, and I really don't want to lose the privilege.

As much as we'd like to see you enjoy you having fun with mIRC or another IRC based app. I think your education is far more important, instead of chatting with WWW people try doing your work or chatting to your peers asking for help.

Use it from home. If IRC is blocked by the admins, any way of getting around that is prohibited and illegal.

If it connected at one time and you can still connect via
web chat client .. maybe there are problems with some
ports .. try using alternate ports like 6666, 6668, 6669, 7000.
I would think if you can connect with web client you could
connect with mIRC since they both need the same ports.

Edit: Also, the problem may be that your admin has blocked
port 113 to incoming connections so ident isn't working?
