Forums mIRC Help upgrading mirc from 6.01 to a newer secure version

im using invision 2.0 and am getting my version is insecure how do i upgrade without changing all my info

You need to simply download the latest version of mIRC and run the installer. Close all antivirus programs and any other unnecessary programs and make sure you close any running instances of mIRC. Install the new version of mIRC to the same directory as your current mIRC. Make sure you have all 3 check boxes checked to keep your old mIRC settings.

You should always use the latest version of mIRC, there's little excuse to still be using a version as old as 6.01!

Chris that was a erroneous URL it takes you to https://forums.mirc.com/www.mirc.com/get.html.

Here's the correct URL. Extract the mIRC 6.16 files into the 6.01 directory. The 3 boxes Mentality said are the options to:

• Backup existing mIRC files
• Keep current mIRC settings
• Create shortcut icons

These are found on the mIRC installer.
