Forums Connection Issues Problems connecting with XP (Connection timed out)

I cant connect at all with mIRC, I am now using XP Pro instead of win ME. Zone alarm pro is running, but it wont connect even when zone alarm is disabled. I set up 2 DCC on port 5000 and 5001, and still I cant connect to any channel.
I have gmail invites for whoever helps me get this fixed first.

Check that the inbuilt XP firewall is OFF,

Start
Control Panel
go to Network connections window, right click on the one you use > Properties > Advanced, uncheck the box that says Protect

If its running along with ZA it could be your problem..
No Ideal what gmail is, but we do this for free, because we enjoy it ....not bribes

I have done that, yet I still have the problem. Is there anything I need to do to in Zone Alarm 5.5? The pop up about a program trying to acess the internet (mIRC) through zone alarm was allowed. So mIRC has the permissons right?

Gmail is email provided by google, you get 1gb of storage. People somtimes will be modivated(sp?) to help out for a gmail account.

I figured it out, I had my Ident server set as my nic, Instead of 127.0.0.1.
