Forums Connection Issues Cant connect at all

hey

ya i cant even connect to a irc server. i just got cable modem and i could connect but then when i installed my router i cant connect to mIRC anymore can someone help me

what happens when you try to connect? what error msg? what kind of router?

thats what it does but i know u usuallt restart mIC and it works but it dont this time and then i unplug my router and it works

its a LINKSYS router

Connect with your real username, in lowercase. <--- The key sentence in that message..

Type /identd on <lowercaseuseridhere>

Then try to connect again. In ordinary sitautions it is annoying and stupid to ban uppercase characters in user ID though if a network has been attacked by warbots it is common for the administrators to ban certain tokens. Uppercase characters may, in this case, be one of them.
