Right after installing SP2 for WinXP, I can't send pictures to my friends via mIRC. I was using 6.15 and the same problem occurs with 6.16.
The system shows the file Waiting but goes nowhere.
I tried it with multiple friends and different picture files.
I can establish dialog with friends but I can't exchange files.
Do you have any hint as to what is causing the problem?
I will appreciated it.

Have you checked the XP SP2 firewall? It's turned on after installation of SP2 and could be interfering. Check out www.mirc.org/xpdccsp2 for info on how to set it up with mIRC smile

The change to the Firewall setting did it!
It seems that despite my repeatedly instructions for the Windows Firewall to be disabled, the system kept it ON and I had to include the program as an Exception.
Thank you so much.

SP2 has a limit to open ports/cooncetions at the same time!

Microsoft said that they did this because of the viruses (They said that many virus search at your friends list in outlook and send a copy to them. They want able to do this with SP2)

But ofcourse the true reason isn't this. They just found another weapon against piracy (peer to peer connections)

Anyway ,you can find a small "patch" solving this problem in the internet.Actually it isn't a patch. It is just the port file from windows XP service pach 1.I don't remember the name frown
