i submitted the mIRC.exe file to kaspersky and this is the response i got:
Hello.
Infected with "not-a-virus:RiskWare.mIRC.6.16".
This file is "Advertizing Tool", these files are detected by
extended databases set which can be updated from this URL:
<http://downloads1.kaspersky-labs.com/updates_ext/>
See more info about extended databases here:
<http://www.kaspersky.com/extraavupdates>
KAV 5.0 users may enable extended databases update in Update menu.
Sincerely yours,
Roman Kuzmenko,
Virus analyst.

http://www.kaspersky.com,
http://www.viruslist.comSo if anyone else is having same problem i did just set it to not download extended databses then reboot the comp so you can access mIRC, seen as kaspersky blocks access to the file when it detects it as "RiskWare". I think maybe someone on the mIRC team should have a word with them cos i think that classification is a bit unfair because its not really mIRC's fault tbh.
