I have the newest version of Mirc on this computer. Never have run it on this one. It will connect, but then is immediately disconnected. I am on a network computer through work. Could it be something there that is blocking it as work blocks tons of websites. Is there something I can do to the connection settings of the this computer?

Here's just a few of the responses. It connects for a second, then says disconnected, no matter which server I try. I had aol instant messenger installed on here too, it couldn't connect either.

I only got the 10053 error one time, but have tried 100s of servers and get all the same thing as my first cut/paste above. Right after check ident, it disconnects.

A company firewall/router might be giving you issues too. Speak to the network administrator of your workplace to find out if they can help - if they say you're not meant to be connected through IRC, so beit.

Information on the 10053 error can be found here. Info on Connection Refused can be seen in this thread and also using the search feature will find related threads, many have posted about Connection Refused before.

Regards,

Mentality/Chris
