Firstly, it's silly to use an mIRC version that old, and I see very few 'good' reasons to do so. Using an old version of mIRC due to a script is a bad reason. Old versions have bugs and missing features, which brings me on to the next point..

The Lock option was not added until mIRC 5.6, so you cannot lock in 5.31 as it doesn't exist.

It is always recommended that you use the latest version of mIRC, or if you need to run a 16-bit version, 5.91 - both available at www.mirc.com/get.html smile

i must ask why you say that? i use version 6.03 .. and the reason for that is that i dont like the look of the new version.. and is somone been using a script for years, then maybe he/she want to be able to use that in the future.. and yes, maybe it have bugs in it.. but that goes for the latest version too.. why not help the user instead ? if the lock feture arent added in that version, wouldent it be bether to point him to a site where he can DL a scripted lock instead? or maybe help him write one? just a tought..

6.03 is nowhere near as old as 5.31. v5.31 is 6 years old out of mIRC's 9 year history whereas 6.03 is only 2 years. It's not the same thing at all.

I'm unaware of any script that works with 5.31 that will lock mIRC, and I am unaware of websites which still support 5.31 scripts. Perhaps, rather than picking at my post and giving me advice on how to help others, you could do it yourself? smirk - Although, personally, I think the best advice to give to someone using 5.31 is to upgrade (which is what I did).

variables work the same in the old mirc as the new one.. so you can script a addon that disable commands in it.. i did it for 6.03 .. and it also work for older mirc version, and i tested it on the latest version.. could lock down that too.. and you dont need much more the some variables, a cupple of lines with codes, then a "enable/disable" in popups.. done.. smile
