try typing /debug -pt @debug then pasting the info u get when u try to resume. its impossible for us to help with such little info currently.

Altho, just remember that the DCC protocol is one of the most simple file transfer protocols in the world, so it will never be a reliable method of file transfering.

According to /help DCC Resume Protocol the DCC Resume CTCP should give a filename, a port and a position (two numbers), your debug output shows one number.

If mIRC doesn't get the port number it won't know which DCC Send is meant to be resumed.

As for why you're not getting the port number I've no idea. Are you using plain installs (no scripts)? It may be useful to see a debug from her side aswell.

I have seen a near similar thing, it was a router that knows about dcc and dcc resume, it altes the port numbers from the sender to the reciever, it just isnt very good at it frown . hence you reciving a invalid reply, I fixed the one I ran into by setting the router to become a bridge hence it forwarded everything to the pc without any changes (might also be called DMZ dont quote me on that tho) This only works if the router isnt acting as a hub for multiple pc's of course frown

Hi, I've been having resume problems, can some one help ?

I have a Local net work through a adsl conexant modem/router.
I've tryed Port forward 6667,7000-7005,59,113 and DMZ to local PC
The PC is running XP SP1
I've tryed with and without firewall. The firewall ports open to the above ports.
Micr 6.16

This extract was taken from a raw debug:-

-> PRIVMSG [XDCC]-A72 :xdcc send #1
<- NOTICE mithrin :** Sending you pack #1 ("[14MB]Speed.Test.zip"), which is 14MB (resume supported)
<- PRIVMSG mithrin :DCC SEND [14MB]Speed.Test.zip 3667514412 4382 14618501
-> PRIVMSG [XDCC]-A72 :DCC RESUME "[14MB]Speed.Test.zip" 4382 3260448
<- NOTICE mithrin :** You have a DCC pending, Set your client to receive the transfer. (150 seconds remaining until timeout)
<- PING

Can any one see whats wrong ?

This site mask's my ip and don't know how to check it. /localinfo -u and //echo -a $ip work and reports my wan ip.
//dns $me seems to mach but is unresolved.

It took me ages to find a server to test this on, don't have a friend to try with.

I have been reading posts for days through Google on this problem but can't find my anwser, so I'm asking you guy's.

Download for the first time and overwrite is ok. Do I need to put it in passive mode ? How?

You appear to be experiencing the DCC Pending error, check out this thread. It's useful if you use the Search feature before posting too, there are many posts on a) DCC pending and b) DCC resume.

Do be aware, mIRC isn't a file trading program nor is IRC for such a purpose.

Regards,

Mentality/Chris

Thnaks for your reply.
As you are probley aware I'm new to irc. My goal is to swap family genealogy files and start a new channel. I've got know one yet to test with, so in my research I found XDCC to test with. It seem's I need to find someone instead. I have read all posts here and other places with resume in it. XDCC is the same as DCC but automatic.

Just try to access some sites on the internet that will
reveal your real IP address, and then go to Options
Connect->Local Info, and type in your real IP address..

Also you would like to uncheck those checkboxes,
so mIRC doesn't overwrite your recent changes..
