Hi,
I think I've found a bug in the Sounds section, so I'll describe what happened.. First of all, I'm using mIRC 6.14, without a firewall, via cable modem.

I was downloading some stuff over DCC, and I thought that it would be nice to turn the Sounds ON, so I can do some other things, while it is downloading.. So, in the Sounds section, I've started to change sounds, for some events, and then it happened.

I've changed the first type of the sound in the ComboBox, to for ex. first.wav and then I've changed the second sound to, say, second.wav, after that I've returned to the first sound, and it was something default, instead of first.wav..

I noticed that, but I wasn't able to try to restart mIRC client to try again, because of the DCC in the progress, so, I tried on and on again and it had just become worse! As I was trying to change any of those sounds, it started to mess everything..

The next day, when the DCC was finished, I've restarted mIRC, and before connecting to any IRC server, I tried to configure the sounds, and it worked great. After connecting to the IRC server I wanted to be sure that everything is ok, so I tried to change the sounds again (this time not disconnecting from IRC server) and it happened again.

So, shortly, there is a possible problem in configuring the sounds, while the mIRC client is connected to a network..

Sorry if I was to explicit.. that's all smile
Mladen.

if it occurs in the latest version (6.16) then please post back, otherwise its a bug in a previous version thats been fixed, so your report is of no use. It would be like reporting a bug in windows 3.1 to microsoft right now. They would just ignore you.

"so your report is of no use"...

My report is not "of no use" wise guy, because I've tried right now, and the same problem exists in mIRC 6.16.
Nobody's report is "of no use" remember that, it is our good will to report the stupid bug, not our obligation..

Greetings smile

You're wrong, considering khaled doesn't release patches for mIRC (like many program authors do), then the bug report for an older version of mIRC is useless, the only way it will be fixed is in a new version, but by reporting a bug on an older version it could of already been fixed in a newer version than the one you used.

Have You ever heard for a 'Search' option on the message boards...? Well I have.

So, please, stop replying, unless it's related to the bug report, ok? This is rediculous, we are arguing about some irrelevant issues, but the point is, I and people like me want to help him, so if he is disregarding our posts, it's his fate..

The point is, I dont _have_ to do this, but I still do, so if you have anything against it, please say it kindly, not like
"your report is of no use"...

Thats all, please don't reply any more, cause this is going to far, if you want to, reply it to my email, not to bother the other people with our philosophy..

Greets.

i have no need to be nice, i was blunt, concise and to the point. To take offence at a bunch of 0's and 1's on your PC monitor is frankly a waste of time. Anyway, i didn't mean to sound rude, i just don't waffle, i put my point forward plain and simple.

Anyway, since you've confirmed you've tried it in mirc 6.16, then its a legitimate bug.
