is there any way I can get a script like Acromancer, without having to have invision installed?

First you'd need to tell us exactly what that script does, since alot of us would'nt touch invision with a barge-pole.

I have no experience with scripting, but what im basicaly lookoing for is a script that, when I type something like (lol) it returns Laughing out Loud , and if I type (brb) it returns Be Right Back. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

if you really wanted to search for one.... then maybe you would have found some other sites such as hawkee.com or mircscripts.org or even mirc.net.... those sites are additional good resources for info as well............ but anyways look at this and also try Me and Me Too!!! ....

i hope this helps ya out.....

cool

also for FYI:

Acromancer is a invision only term..... they are otherwise called "ACROS" or "Acronyms". but not neccesairly in that order smile... so if what i've pointed ya to deson't fit what you want try searching the terms i just mentioned...
