This is an abnormal behaviour i cannot recreate straightway.
I was messaging a person with /CTCP nick blahblahblah, and instead of doing what it should do (?), it printed the whole line with the /ctcp -command, on channel, and this message's subject line in status window.
Hope I made myself clear..
