That just means you connected to an IRC server. Like connecting to the Internet; You still have to "go" somewhere.
You will need to know the name of your 'karaoke' channel, and make sure you're connecting to the correct IRC network that channel exists on. Once you're connected to a server from the correct IRC network, type /join #karaoke_channel_name_here.
