I don't think it's ticks causing the issue, it's the -h switch.
Due to it's behavoir using ".timer -h ... editbox -an 'stuff'" from an on input will cause you to get stuck in an infiniate loop. Even if u have vars/checks making sure the oninput wasn't triggered from the timer.
