Yes, thanks everyone for replying. I had anticipated that there would be some level of disinterest in actually discussing my topic... and apparently the subject degraded into a discussion of text speak vs correct english.
Mirc would be really cool if you could use it to call mirc users through the skype client. Mirc could even come bundled with skype as a download...
