You can have a 256kbit speed on a 10mbit/100mbit NIC depending on your ISP connection. The only time the NIC actually matters is if your connection is faster than the NIC can handle. I assume the OP has a fast connection, but just commenting on the NIC being used in the question. Either way, he said it was just who he was sending to.
