Forums mIRC Help I type /join #roomname but nothing happens

Ive tried to connect to IRC chat rooms but whenever I send the command "/join" nothing happens. A friend has told me my name is in the chatroom, but the chat window doesn't pop up, and the status window shows no messages.

Any ideas?

try /join #chat

for the channel name. What i found is that you can not do /join namehere. you need the #.

To bypass this click on alias.. and under everything else put the following in:

/j /join #$$1
/join /join #$$1


Hope that helps.. The code also makes you able to just shortcut and go.. . /j channelname

Do you have any scripts installed? Try a clean install of mIRC with no scripts and see if you have the same problem.

I have this same problem. I tried the clean install and it still happens. It says my name is in the chat, but that chat doesnt pop up.
