For some reason mIRC don't copy properly a UTF-8 string with a mouse selection.

I'm using mIRC 6.2 whis option "UTF-8: Display and encode" and I've confirmed the bug with 2 friends.

In edit box I write this text : (désolé)
-> gokuraku.dreams-fr.net PRIVMSG #xiato : (désolé)
In the chan window I see : (désolé)
I select this text and right-click + paste
In the édit box I see : (désolé)
I send it and read the chat window : (désolé)
-> gokuraku.dreams-fr.net PRIVMSG #xiato : (désolé)

My conclusion :
- The copy function doesn't use the UTF-8 encoding.
- mIRC is incapable to send any text resembling a UTF-8 sequence ! (like "é")

Thanks for resolving this problem and Au revoir wink,
Melnofil

Have you enabled "Multibyte editbox" through Alt+O > IRC > Messages?

Thank you grin, why it's not automatic ?
I can't understand how I can send utf-8 text without using a multibyte editbox confused
