Eset Smart Security 5 FW Blocks Port +7000. Port 6667 works fine. Dont know what to do. Can someone pls help me? Would appreciate it very much.
ESET and any other firewall will let you forward any ports you need and/or allow specific applications full access to the internet. In ESET, this is in the Rules and Zones section of the firewall settings. You can also check through the other firewall settings to perhaps find other settings that may help with what you are trying to accomplish.

Thanks for the quick repley. Iv´e tried to google it and cant find anything that works. Ports are opened. Checked it. Tried to exclude mirc in AV and that doesnt work. Port 6667 works but not +7000. Its really strange. I need help :S
Are you certain it is the firewall blocking it?

By '+7000', do you mean the port is an SSL enabled port?
and if so, do you have SSL installed and working?

You can check this by simply typing this into and edit box:

Code:
//echo -a $sslready

the return result should be $true

if this is $true, check your SSL settings in mIRC:
From the mIRC menu bar:

Tools > Options > Connect > Options > Click SSL Button

Check to make sure you have 'Display invalid certificates for approval' selected in the Certificates section..

However, if the return is $false, have a look here: http://www.mirc.com/ssl.html

Hey.

SSL = $true
Display invalid certificates for approval is choosen.

Still dont world.
What is the error message(s) you are getting? are they mIRC error messages? or from the firewall saying that it's being blocked?
Also, Does it work if you turn the firewall off?
Port 6667 works with FW on. No problem there.

Everytime I connect to port +7000, a popup message from FW comes up about a port scanning attack and with the IP adress. And the error message from mirc is:[10053] Software caused connection abort. It works when FW is off.
hrm, sorry, I'm not familiar with that FW, are their any options on that FW popup that will allow the access of the program?
No options. Tried to add that IP in FW, but didnt work.
Try temporarily enabling "Learning Mode" in the firewall. That should create a rule for you that allows the connection unless you already have a rule set up to block it. If it still doesn't allow it, then I'm not sure. You might want to do a search on ESET with that port attack message. There should be an option to ignore that for a specific IP. Note that the "attack" is most likely caused by normal communication from the server... usually an open proxy check or something along those lines.
