I'm asking this because I found hard to join (and finding servers too)in uk networks.
Sorry....I'm not British, but sometimes I'd like to get files in English language. Basically I need to find a search engine for eng. files or try to understand how can I join to Uk irc networks to get a chan list and then to do what I'm used to do in my lang ;O)

Any suggestions for an Italian man very addicted to British things? Thanks in advance;O)

What files?

You can use www.searchirc.com to search IRC for various networks, or Google.

Note that mIRC is not a file sharing application, if that's your intention.
