Is there some way to mask an isp on mIRC? There are instances when I don't like my isp posted in a server

You might want to see this thread because it has most, if not all, of the possibilities to cover up your real IP/hostname. Unfortunately, most of the time (unless the network supports +x) it will cost money to cover up your IP/hostname with a Shell account. In reality it's not going to do you any harm for people to know your ISP even if your hostname reveals quite a lot of information about where you live.

If that thread is confusing then you may want to use the Search feature and use a search term such as 'BNC' or 'Shell'.

Hope this helps smile

Hi, Chris,

Thanks for the information. I did try the links You provided and got the old "The page cannot be displayed." My pop-up blocker is NOT on. Any more suggestions?

Whoops, sorry about that, I usually shorten URLs when linking after doing a search, and I must have chopped a few too many characters.

In addition to what CtrlAltDel posted, I was linking to this post. Just a little too late to edit my other post unfortunately!

You're welcome for the help of course smile
