Hi... maybe a lot of people have posted about this problem, but I've tried to read most of the messages, i still can't solve this. (excuse me for the confusing terms i'm using)

i want to connect to the user using "/ctcp bla bla bla"
but i get an alert: "This server is using an alternate server method, pls make sure your DCC Server is active and set to port 59. /dccserver +sc on 59"

I forgot what i should do, it happened since last week.
Pls help me... thx a bunch before that smile

The Forum has a Search feature - "dcc server" turns up a lot of threads, so does "alternate server method" - for best results, expand to 'All Forums' and expand the date range to 'All Posts'. This thread might help.

As you're DCC chatting via CTCP I assuming you're downloading off of fserve's or XDCC bots. Remember, IRC means Internet Relay Chat and isn't there for file trading, legal or not really. If it's illegal file sharing (i.e. mp3s, movies, cracked software etc) then we refuse to help with it. Read this.

Also see /help dcc server.

Happy chatting smile

Regards,

Mentality/Chris

nope nope... i'm not trading the files with anyone else, don't worry. I'm very much aware myself with the trojans that're hanging around the irc ^_^

Thanx for your feedback... lemme try to read the thread later

ja ne!
