I don't know if this option has been proposed, but I would assume something similar has come about because it seems like a good idea if not better concept than what is used right now for the mIRC client.

Well I was thinking that all the downloads and upload windows take alot of space on the mIRC taskbar. So why not have one window that is like the Kazaa, Emule, Napster, etc transfer window so it only takes one window space... or even better yet.... no windows like the notify list works. With maybe a completion bar and speed bar and what not.

Gaming is like life. Have fun with it.

mIRC is not a file sharing program. It shouldn't be intended to handle your big warez leeching that takes place. Deal with it.

I have a feeling that AKO didn't read the rules of this message board. How you can sit there and be rude about someone's ideas is just ignorant. So far I have liked all of Gamer X's ideas. I even thought about a download manager. Keep up the ideas, Gamer X. Don't let people discourage you.

Download manager for what?

You either use Fserve, or DCC. In either case, a Direct Client Connection is made, and you can easily see the status of a download taking place.

Not only that, but I'm quite sure that if you read the help files, you could quite easily make a dialog that showed all current gets/sends.

mIRC is not a file sharing program man, it does not need an easy way to view all of your downloads, simply because you shouldn't *need* that. mIRC supports direct connections for chats and file sends. That's about all it SHOULD support.

It should not cater to warez junkies who have 1,000 downloads going at once on 1,000 servers.

We know that many people do run fservs off of mIRC, so keeping the DCC send/recieve buttons from piling up, they all could be put in the same window.

I don't understand what you would have against it, anyway. Anything that makes mIRC more organized is a good thing.

I agree, and I do think it's a good suggestion. IRC has nothing to do with filesharing, however mIRC has such a feature, and this is enough reason for making it better and more organized than it is. Khaled is the one who'll decide what's really needed or not.

That's not mIRC's problem if they're sending too many DCCs at one time....

here's an idea. Run your FSERVE off of another copy of mIRC that's hidden into the tray or installed as a service on firedaemon.

I believe this could be scriptet in alot of different ways. I really don't see any good reasons for hardcoding such a feature into mIRC. Please remember that mIRC is primarely a IRC client. And that is has a scripting language too.
