I leave my client online. When I came back to it today, all I could see in the channel were joins and parts. There was no chat (this is a political channel and is busy 24/7). There were 180 ppl in the channel.
It's been two days now and I still cannot see any chat, and it doesn't appear anyone see's my posts either. I have changed servers and its the same thing.
Any advice?

Solved my problem. It was /ignore. My mirc client has problems with the /ignore. I had to go into ignore and uncheck the "Enable" box. Now my chat window is working as it should be.

It's extremely unlikely that your client is having "problems" with /ignore. Rather, the problem itself is that you've ignored everyone in the channel. Check your ignore list in Alt+B -> Control (select the "Ignore" drop down where you disabled it) and remove entries until the problem is resolved.
