Forums mIRC Help Search me! I must be doing something wrong

I entered "philosophy ethics old age"
No dice.
I tried "ISIS terrorists"
Nada
(I don't understand "Display Name Search" box)
I can't believe nobody has touched on the topics I entered in the last year.

I have literally no clue what this is about.
Is it related to mIRC whatsoever? Where is the "Display Name Search" box you refer to?

Ofc ISIS Terrorists wouldn't refer to a user :P, and I don't feel like that's a topic that would be brought up at the mIRC forums. OP: You should try to find some other forum that's about the world or something instead for this kind of topic

Well, Nillen, I don't understand you either. Maybe it's an age thing (You'll gather I'm a very old fart.)
If I select the "Search" function I get a dialogue box with four headings:
Keyword Search Terms
Display Name Search
Date Range
Result Format
I understand all except the second.
As for "appropriate" subject matter, I simply picked terms that I thought would feature in discussions. Surely, you accept that headline terms like "ISIS" and "terrorists" are topical?
I tried "poetry", again with no results.
Seems I am not of the mIRC world.

Well, the general idea of the mIRC forums isn't do discuss general topics like ISIS or poetry. Big surprise: It's about discussing mIRC and the features of mIRC.

You can find general topics in the general discussions thread if anything, but if you browse through there you can immediately spot that it's a very slow moving subforum and any topic about ISIS would (if not definitely) likely be on the first page. Another thing to spot while there is that... it doesn't really feature any of the general topics you can find on, let's say reddit. They're very mIRC/IRC centered as well.

Like I said, I'd suggest visiting some site like Reddit or a different forum for these kinds of topics.

The 'Display Name Search' allows you to look for a post matching the keywords terms, but written by a specific nickname
