Doesn't it automatically stop? I play a audio file via the /splay command and it stops when its done playing....otherwise if i want to stop it i type /splay stop...

sounded like since its such a long .wav, he wanted to know how to make it stop if he happened to be at the puter and didnt need it playing the whole thing to get his attention... and because he said its a .wav, he would need the -w in the command

Maybe put it on a timer or something then...ill paste an example from what I have....Granted it is an "on Start" event though...

on *:start:{
splay Disturbed-Stupify.mp3
.timer 1 73 splay stop
}

so after 73 seconds of play time it stops....ah well what ever works right? lol

unless i misunderstood the original question, sometimes he needs it to play the whole 4 mins. its only if he happens to be at the puter that he wants to be able to stop it with a command. hopefully he'll explain if the stop command we gave doesnt do what it is he needs

Its a possiblility that we both misunderstood...From what i gathered he's using a 4 minute long wav file for an on notify event and as soon as you get a few seconds like 10 seconds for example to stop ...That would give him ample time to hear when someone on his notify list comes online....then automatically shut off....so i will include this in case this is what was meant

on *1:NOTIFY: {
splay filename.wav
.timer 1 10 splay -w stop
}

Not sure if it works or not but worth a shot....The worst that could happen is that im wrong....but it wouldn't be the first time though grin
