Can any one help me , i just updated my computer fron a AMD to a P4 and installed the same version on of Win XP on it and the same version of irc dout every single time i want to download any single thing after about 30 seconds of download my computer restarts , and it only does that when i IRC download.

simple problem, simple solution:

It's most likely a router or firewall issue. If not that, then it could be an antivirus program trying to scan the file and causing the crash. The only other likely possibility I can think of is a conflict with other programs that you're using.

Have you tried re-installing mIRC again?

Also, are you using any mIRC scripts? If you are you should try disabling them and see if that makes any difference.

I'd suggest using Windows Update and also running any Anti-virus program such as AVG Free.

Also, Check your PC Manufacturers website for driver updates.
