Forums mIRC Help No text displayed in mIRC

I recently connected to a server and had nothing display. A window poped up when a friend sent a test message, but again nothing shows up.

I uninstalled mIRC, downloaded 6.16 for windows (I have XP sp2), and installed again. The problem remains - I can connect, send text, receive messages, but nothing displays in any of the windows.

Help?

Check your font colors. It sounds like your default font color is the same as your background color.

colors were fine, but font was set to "fixedsys" which had no sample. when I switched to arial/times/etc everything shows up.
