Just to addon to what Slade said, Question: Will you be making a Mac, Linux, etc. version of mIRC? Answer: I'm afraid not, all of my time is taken up working on the Windows version.

Lol!
/me starts writing his TI-91 mIRC port (and adds satellite modem technology so it works... and a keyboard... and ....)
As a FYI - mIRC *does* work well in Linux using WINE from what people have told me. I know various people who use mIRC in Linux without any issues.

Well, unfortunately, Riamus2, that is not true anymore. WINE does not seem to support the I/O of mIRC well anymore. The WINE program lets you type as much as you want, but once you hit "Enter", the computer can only send the first four alphanumeric keys you typed, including spaces. So, let us rule out this way of being able to use mIRC on Linux, hmm?

Try another WINE version, then? I know people who still use it without problems.

There is an IRC client for Linux that vaguely resembles mIRC, called savIRC. The last time I checked, it even looked like a Windows program when one started it up, but this might be liable to change in the future. I'm not aware of it supporting any character encodings except UTF-8 either.
But anyway, if you hate X-Chat that much, you could give it a try.

I've been using KVIrc on linux. It was the closest thing to mIRC that I could find. I may take a look at savIRC to see if it's any better.

That's not what happened when _I_ ran mIRC on WINE. I think you have a bad linux setup or wine
